wee tale
After 10 years of working in advertising in San
Francisco, I was going through a tough adjustment
period of being a stay-at-home mom with my daughter,
Morgan. Often we spent our days shopping, and as
my receipt pile grew taller, my bank account grew
smaller! I simply loved putting my little girl in
cute outfits (it's an addiction, I admit!) so I
thought I'd try a local consignment shop to see
what I could find.
A new passion was born as I discovered that not
only did I save a ton of money, but also loved discovering
the "finds" in consignment stores. From designer
brands and unique toys to kid's music and videos,
I delighted in finding items I would have never
seen elsewhere. I loved that I could spend $100
on 10 outfits instead of two or 3…I now had a new
addiction!
When it came time for the decision to "go back to
work" (that phrase is just an oxymoron, isn't it?)
I decided that commuting 50 miles and leaving my
daughter for 11 hours a day was not for me. As fate
would have it, when shopping at my neighborhood
market, a "For Lease" sign called my name . . .
and the idea for A Wee Change was born.
I wanted to pair my love of a good deal with the
clean look of a retail store. Light, bright, clean
and uncluttered was my mantra. My idea was to create
a friendly place that welcomes children and grandparents
alike; a neighborhood store where people could make
a quick stop for a gift or spend an hour perusing
for the perfect little outfit. Well, my dream is
now a reality (thanks honey!) and I would love to
share it with you. |

Quality Gently Worn Children's Clothing
We accept only the best in children's clothing sizes
0-8. We are a "better brand" consignment boutique,
where you will find favorites such as Gap, Gymboree,
Ralph Lauren, Janie & Jack, Catamini, Baby Lulu,
Juicy Couture and more. Many of our items arrive
"new with tag" and are priced at ½ or less of retail
prices.
Hip & Trendy Maternity Wear
No frumpy allowed at A Wee Change! You will find
brands from Mom's the Word, Mimi Maternity, Olian,
A Pea in the Pod, Gap and more. Maternity clothing
is amazingly expensive when purchased new; why not
look like a stylish and hip mommy to-be for 1/3
to 1/2 of retail prices!!
New Toys, Gifts & Girl Scouts Too!
You will find a selecton of new toys from popular brands such as Melissa & Doug and Crocodile Creek. We carry new children's shoes by Robeez, Pedipeds & See Kai Run. We feature a variety of gifts, from handmade burp cloths to wooden bead jewelry for kids. We are also Walnut Creek's only Girl Scout retailer, offering a central location for all of your Daisy, Brownie & Junior Girl Scout needs!
Gear, Books, Videos/DVDs & Bedding
We often receive high quality gear such as strollers,
high chairs, exersaucers, take-along swings, pack
& plays and child-carriers. We receive books, videos
and DVDs from our consignors daily. We offer a great
mix of crib bedding by such brands as Pottery Barn,
Laura Ashley, Kidsline and others. When space allows
you may find a high end crib, bassinettes, changing
tables and more. |
